Armed with a piano, a guitar, and a piercingly clear voice, Taiwanese indie pop singer Cheer Chen has long been a favorite amongst music lovers. Her simple acoustic numbers and sweet vocals bring music down to its purest and most intimate form. Like her previous works, Cheer Chen's fourth single, Pussy, is clean and refreshing with a stripped-down guitar melody, an easy rhythm, and deceptively simple English lyrics. The song is inspired by a certain summer day in Paris when the singer, in trying to stop a pickpocket on the subway, became the victim of violence. Her feelings of anger and helplessness about the incident and concern for a stray cat she had adopted before her trip came together when she wrote the simple yet expressive Pussy.
